While my study abroad experience was not the same as most of my peers, I still had fun learning and experiencing Japan while the boarders were closed. I was still able to learn not only more of the language. I did my study abroad virtually with a university in Japan. They were synchronous so I did have to change my daily schedule to fit the classes. With these classes I was able to talk to native Japanese speakers and others from different countries also learning Japanese. Though there were a few cultural things to be learned here as the focus was the language classes. But it was still fun. For the final project in the class, we did presentations comparing different aspects of culture to America. I talked about fashion, as while I love reading and writing, I still love all things beauty related. While I can no longer find my scrip that goes with the PowerPoint. You can still see the differences in the fashion worn in Japan then in America.
