I love reading, and this hobby has revived my love for writing. While I don't publish any of my writing, I still like to have fun and try to make new stories. Though it was because of my new love of writing that when I saw a writing challenge online I had to enter. It was held by a company called Forest & Fawn you can see their logo below.
Now unfortunately the contest it still being judged so I am unable to include it on me website here, but I can tell you the rules that were in place.
-
2,000 word maximum
-
a change in plans
-
a recurring memory
-
a character with an uncharacteristic hobby.
However, I can explain my process a bit. We were given a week to write these stories. I had an idea for some of the requirements as soon as I read them but other took a bit more brainstorming. To brainstorm I would look up inspiration online for the vibes I wanted the story to have. I also listened to music I though woud fit too.
Once I was able to figure out how I wanted to use the required themes I got to work writing about 500 words a day. I was trying to balance this and my schoolwork, so I wrote for about 30 minutes a day. Overall I am happy with the story I made and I will update this as soon as the results are in. Though here is a sample from what I am currently writing. It's still a work in progress so it is not complete quite yet.

Though with that I can talk about my book Instagram account I recently started. I unfortunately do not have many friends that like to read the same material that I do so, I started this account to share my love of reading. You should see some of my posts below while theres not much there currently it will continue to be updated over time.
And if you are curious here are some more samples of my writings from past classes. Now these are some examples of creative nonfiction. Which is different than what I would normally write but I am still very proud of them. Now please be warned there is some strong language used in some of these writings.
